SAFETY DATA SHEET FOR LIQUID IN GLASS THERMOMETERS. (EXCLUDING LOW TOX RANGE)

Our liquid in glass thermometers contain expansion media comprising substances and preparations which present no risk to health, safety or environment when encased in the glass bulb and capillary.

If the instrument is broken during use, minimal risk is presented because of the small volume of materials being used. The following information is supplied as an aid to further reduce risk.

As the Company may change constituent materials, users should check that they are in possession of the most -recent revision of. this Safety Data Sheet:

Skin/eye contact - wash with water.  Seek medical attention.

3. SPILLAGE

a) Contain mercury with wet sand, recover by vacuum suction (not a vacuum cleaner).
Spread 50/50 slurry of calcium hydroxide and flowers of sulphur over area and allow to dry. Consult Local Authority or waste disposal contractor for disposal.

b) Absorb Toluene/Creosote in wet sand. (Transfer to safe open area for atmospheric absorption).
